Service and Operational Features
Central public hub for NYC agency Language Access Implementation Plans and Language Access Coordinators. Provides access to community resources such as I Speak cards, notices of language access rights in multiple languages, multilingual public-facing materials, agency language access contacts, annual language access reports, and guidance on how New Yorkers can request free language assistance from City agencies.
Languages Covered
NYC’s 10 designated citywide languages are Spanish, Chinese, Russian, Bangla/Bengali, Haitian Creole, Korean, Arabic, Polish, Urdu, and French. These languages are based on Census and NYC Department of Education data for New Yorkers with limited English proficiency. Covered agencies must translate commonly distributed documents into the designated citywide languages and maintain language access implementation plans.
